We help members & students to develop
the necessary skills to SAIL safely
& with confidence
Our certified courses are based on the curriculum established by US SAILING, the leading national sailing certification organization. This certification is proof of your achievement and your passport to become a fully active member of the Club allowing you also to chartering boats locally or worldwide.
ASA 101 – "Basic Keelboat" 3 days course
This sailing 101 course is taught on 26′ cruising monohulls WAHINE LIFESTYLE keel boats with inboard engines that are high performance, very safe, fast and won’t tip over. ASA Basic Keelboat Certification earned.
ASA 103 – "Basic Cruising" 1 day course
Taught on 26′ cruising monohulls WAHINE LIFESTYLE. ASA Basic Cruising Certification earned in this course.
ASA 104 – "Bareboat Cruising" 3 days Live aboard course
The ultimate ready-to-cruise course taught on 26′ cruising monohulls WAHINE LIFESTYLE. The ASA Bareboat Cruising Certification enables you to apply for US Sailing’s International Proficiency Certification (IPC) which is required to book the Club's yachts.
All three ASA Certifications, ASA Basic Keelboat (101), ASA Basic Cruising (103), and ASA Bareboat Cruising (104) are required to book the Club yachts and are earned at your own pace. In the case that the member already has the experience, a sailing check-out will be performed to review his/her sailing skills and confidence and asses if ASA 101 or 103 might be required.
However, no matter the level of experience a member may bring into the CLUB, unless he/she can show proof of having credited the ASA 104 BAREBOAT CRUISING certification, this certification becomes a requirement to become a fully active member of the Club and is offered to members at a discounted rate.
Our low student to teacher ratio (4 to 1) ensures that you get just the right amount of hands-on experience. Basic Keelboat, Basic Cruising & Bareboat Cruising classes have a maximum of four students and one instructor per boat. While there will sometimes be less, there will never be more.
